National eConference Mary-First Disciple Tuesday 18th May 2010

Posted on 15/05/2010

E conferences sound complex but they aren’t! At the same time all across Australia and the world, sites, like St Vincent’s Ashfield will be receiving via the world wide web, live lectures from top speakers. The advantage over a TV program or a DVD is that through the technology we can contribute, ask questions, share discussion from these major experts and at the same time we can enjoy the world community questions!

On Tuesday 18 May in the Parish meeting rooms at 12 Bland St Ashfield Parish from 10.20am -3.00pm. we will present Mary The First Disciple.

This will be a time of stimulating thought and discussion, sharing lunch (BYO …but morning tea with coffee and tea available) and contributing to a world wide conference on Mary.

We have top theologians Live, Fr Francis Moloney SDB and Sr Vivienne Goldstein SM who will be presenting Mary from the scriptures and from their heart. There are 6 imputs lasting approx 20minutes each. Come and taste the e-conference and stay for as long as you can!!

Make it an important appointment and ring Parish office for booking.

Assembly of the Federation of Bishops Conferences of Oceania

Each four years the four Bishops Conferences of Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea Solomon Islands, and the Pacific CEPAC) gather. The opening Mass for the 2010 assembly will be at St. Mary’s Cathedral on Monday 10th May, commencing at 5;30pm. Approximately 90 bishops will concelebrate with Cardinal Pell. Everyone is most welcome to attend as a sign of welcome and solidarity with the bishops.

On Wednesday 12th May St. Brigid’s Parish Marrickville will host one of the eight encounters for groups of these Bishops with the local people for Mass and Supper. An open invitation is given to us all to welcome the Bishops. Our 6pm Choir will join those leading the music.
